(My review of saturday 30th July in Stirling)
I`ve just left the scotich Dancing night to come to the lab and write an update for my Tunisian friend who could`nt attend this WYC.
The programm for today was:
First A Stirling tour -after a shorter one in Stirling University which end up with signing up for sunday and monday workshop`s-, We had the opportunity to visit the Stirling Castle.
Then in the afternoon, was held the opening Planery with many intersting and inspiring speakers from all over the world : Politicians , NGO Founders, Mouvement leaders, etc...
We moved after to meet our clans: On registration each one of us was assigned a clan number (Working Group for the action projects and all activities undertaken in the WYC). I was affected to the
Edinburgh Wild Life Project I haven`t choosen this one but it`s an intersting one. It aims: To improve local nature reserves within Edinburgh for the benefit of wildlife and community.
On 7.00pm wasthe TakingITGlobal meeting -It was exciting meeting TIG`s stuff another time (after WSIS Geneva 2003)-: Where Mike and Jen presented the V5 of the site and briefed the new members on the community opportunities and tools then we went for a friendly chat on our engagement with TIG. It`s such a pleasure for me hearing how other members are doing so many intersting and inspiring work thru this online community(and all around the world with local actions)!
then we went to the scottich welcome dinner, On the end of which an amazing young boy (14-years-old)was introduced to the audiance as the founder of
Ryan`s WellOne quote on the presentation was by Mother Theresa where she said: "There`s no Great Actions, but only Small Actions done with Great love". Also the facts presented on Water supply on the globe are thrilling! We do waste an ammount of water everyday many times more than wich we effectively use!
Finally, after all exciting activities of the day we got some funny courses on scotishs dances...
